Bespoke Mountain Bikes
Project Type: Original Logo and Branding
client: fictional (course assignment)
role: graphic designer
tools used: adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Description
This project was part of Graphic Design Masterclass - Learn GREAT Design on Udemy.com. The objective was to create a logo for a custom mountain bikes manufacturer. I created a custom wordmark and monogram
Process
The first step was to define the direction for the design. Establish a solid concept, typography, and color scheme based on the brief. I sketched potential design on pencil and paper, and selected the forerunner to proceed with, as there was no real client for this job. The next step was to select the typography and color scheme to align with the brief. And finally I made some mockups to help the imaginary client visualize just how successful my design is.
Reflection
This project challenged me to design with a specific audience in mind—men who value tradition, quality, and rugged performance. It was a great exercise in balancing aesthetics with audience expectations. I learned how subtle design decisions—like type weight, spacing, and shape—can convey strength and craftsmanship without being overly complex. Working within a more masculine, utilitarian visual style also helped me grow in my ability to design outside of my personal preferences. Overall, this project reinforced the importance of research-driven design and staying focused on the brand's identity throughout the process.
